 Can't waste another night
« Thread Started on Jan 3, 2009, 11:29pm »

Life has been known to be like a roller coaster. It has it's ups and downs and no matter how hard you try, you can't stop the ride from running its chosen course. Unfortunately for Jen, she's been heading down hill on her roller coaster of a life for a while. Nothing has been turning out right, her grades have been slipping. It's like she's a whole different person. Most of her problems have to do with her sleep loss. She doesn't know why, but a couple weeks ago, she just started waking up in the middle of the night. And if you haven't figured it out, none of that's changed. So since Jen seems to be up for a good portion of the night, she just started to roam around campus. This particular night she decided to go sit by the lake.

Slipping on a pair of sweat pants, a hoodie and her sneakers, Jen grabbed her iPod and crept out of her dorm room and then left the building. Following the path that she knew well, Jen followed it all the way to the lake. Sitting down, Jen untangled her headphones from her iPod and slipped them into her ears. Keeping the volume down pretty low, Jen looked out across the lake. The moonlight shown down on the dark water that seemed to be undisturbed. The surface of the water was so smooth and unbroken that it kind of looked like a place where people could walk, but not enough as to trick people into walking on water.

Sighing, Jen let herself fall onto her back and look up at the dark sky. Why did she have to be the one being kept up at night? Couldn't it have been someone else? If she was going to be up basically all night, then what would the point be in it even being dark? As of now, the night's just a waste. Maybe if there were more people up and about, the night wouldn't be as much of a waste. Plus, Jen wouldn't have to wander around and have her iPod as her only means of entertainment.

Letting out another sigh, Jen started to wonder if anyone else she knew had the same sleep problem. Or if there was anyone up for no apparent reason who would find her and become some form of entertainment for her. Anything or anyone would have to be better than sitting alone.
